As we leave the marina, the coastline immediately opens into a run of hidden coves, chalk reefs, and quiet beaches beneath the cliffs of Ovingdean and Rottingdean. We pass the offshore site of a WWII Spitfire wreck, resting beneath the chalk ledges — a poignant moment of Sussex wartime history before the coastline rises into the dramatic headlands of the Seven Sisters.
